Happy Friday everyone!
Alright, so tomorrow is the first day of september which means there are only four more months left of 2018?!?
How did that even happen?!?
So far for me, 2018 has absolutely flown by. I was just getting into the summer spirit and now it’s almost the beginning of fall. This year has been filled with so many exciting events and experiences. I’ve learned so much about myself and the direction I want to head in my future. With that said, there is still so much that I want to do this year. So many goals that I want to reach and experiences I want to create in my world.
When my life gets busy, I sometimes push off the big things to the side. Especially during the summer. So at the beginning of this week, I decided to make some coffee and do a little journaling. I wrote down everything I wanted to accomplish throughout the rest of the year. I wrote down the goal then I spent a lot of time writing down why I wanted to do it. One major thing I have learned in the past few years is that the reason you want to do something is the most important factor of whether it will truly get done or not. If you are really locked into why you want to accomplish something and you really want it bad enough, the how kind of just falls into place. So I went to town on writing why I wanted to accomplish these goals.
Next I wrote how I felt like I could accomplish these goals. I have a few really big goals and a few small ones. I broke down the how into a few different smaller tasks for the bigger ones so it didn’t seem so daunting. It really helped me understand the steps I needed to create to accomplish all of the things on my list. This way I’m not just thinking about why I wanted to something but I also have a plan.
I’m sharing this on here because I feel like since I wrote all of this down that I have had a ton of motivation, clarity, and determination. I wanted to share this tool that I used in my own life with you! I hope that you consider using it in your own life if you feel like you need it!
I listed the prompt that I used for myself below, feel free to take what makes sense to you! xoxo
What do you want to accomplish with the rest of the year? Why? How?
