Happy Monday everyone!

I hope this past week has been amazing for you! This past week has been a complete whirlwind and opened my eyes to the fact that I have a lot to be thankful for. I had a complete wake up call that I was living without really appreciating things in my day to day life.

I was living in this mindset of immediately noticing what was lacking or annoying me. I would get frustrated about someone driving slow (which in reality was the speed limit) instead of noticing how amazing the ocean right next to me was.  I would talk to members of my family without really realizing how appreciative I am to have them in my life. It’s not that I am a totally negative person but it’s crazy how negative you can be without noticing.

Of course, I still find myself having negative thoughts but I am doing my best to form the habit of noticing the beauty in a situation first. It’s amazing how much it makes you appreciate all that you really have in your life. For example, next time instead of being frustrated that your parking spot is really far away from the Target entrance. Think about the fact you have the ability to move and walk that far. Think about the fact you have a car. Think about the fact you get to go to TARGET!!! It’s easy to think about how annoying the walk is. Super easy. But it’s way more exciting to think about all of the things that went right for you to get to be there.

So with my little realization I wanted to challenge you to do some gratitude of your own. Whether you start a gratitude journal or call your friend to tell them that you are thankful for them, really open your eyes to all that you have in your life. Try living a life where you choose to see the greatness (even if you have to squint) and I promise that you will be happier that you did.
